Denmark, Scandinavia, is situated in North Europe, bordering Germany to the south, and both the North Sea to the west and the Baltic Sea to the east. The country is also connected to Malmo in Sweden by both a road and a trainline. The capital is Copenhagen, with a population of around 6 million people. Denmark is made up of the main peninsula (Jutland), around 300 islands, of which many are inhabited, The Faroe Islands and Greenland. There are many things to do and see in Denmark, with theme parks such as Legoland in Billund, historic monuments, castles, music festivals (Roskilde), beer festivals and carnivals among the many highlights.
There are also numerous leisure activities to try out during your holidays in Denmark. Ice-skating on the frozen lakes in winter, kayaking, hiking, horse-riding, cycling and golf but to name a few.
A fantastic way of really getting to know Denmark is to undertake a city route, passing along the country in your own time. Cities and towns such as Silkeborg, Odense, Aarhus, Copenhagen and Kolding are all located within relatively short distances, with all these destinations offering numerous hotels, hostels and holiday accommodations for you to stay in during your trip.
